I am under the impression that most news is fake news. They tell us what they want us to know, not the truth and definitely not the whole truth and nothing but the truth. They hide what they don’t think we can handle or what they can’t afford for us to know. In some cases they just spread blatant lies. How are you supposed to tell fake news from real news if neither one is the truth?
We used to believe in statistics but nowadays statistics can’t be trusted.
Numbers may not lie but people can manipulate the numbers to make them say whatever they want them to say. Let’s take unemployment as an example. The numbers have been supposedly going down but not by much over the past eight years. Spectacularly they were the lowest since 2007 last month. I find it hard to believe that thousands of people just found jobs suddenly. The numbers are rigged and they are used to make us think whatever the powers that be want us to think at the moment.
Did you know that a person is no longer considered unemployed once they have given up looking for a job? The percentage of unemployed people is going to go down if you take a chunk of people out of the equation. It is all manipulation.
So we have fake news, lying numbers and don’t even get me started on history because that is the most twisted tale ever told. What we are taught in school about our “history” is just that a “story”. So many things are left out and facts are twisted to make things seem better or worse than they really were. It all depends on what sounds good.
That is really what it all boils down to; we are told whatever sounds good and we believe it. We believe the fake news, the skewed statistics and the fantasy that is our so-called history. It’s all neatly packaged fiction to keep us from seeing what is really going on right in front of our faces.
