Mud

Once again I get to share the work of someone I love and admire. This was written by my big sister Pamela and she is allowing me to share it with you.

I find myself in the thick of the mud of anger, pain and despair

and the longer I stay in it

it begins to dry on my bones and make my heart heavy

Lay me down gently father and bathe me in the aroma of your perfume

Rinse me off with the breath of your love

and dry me in the fullness of your glory

Take me up where misery can’t find me and peace dwells

Drop my enemies at my feet

and give them bitter drops for every pain that caused a tear

Give me Lord the joy that you spoke of that comes in the morning

and leave me there

surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life
